Ahmad Abdul-Samad

Ahmad Abdul-Samad is a distinguished badminton player and a cornerstone of the Ghana national team, with over six years of exemplary service. As the current team captain, he has led by example, representing Ghana with distinction in numerous international tournaments and delivering standout performances that have significantly elevated the sport’s profile within the country. Domestically, he reigns as Ghana’s top-ranked badminton player.

His leadership extends beyond the court, fostering a culture of discipline and continuous improvement that has positively influenced his teammates’ performance. This leadership was recognized on a global stage when he represented Ghana at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Renowned for his perseverance and hard work, Ahmad’s dedication to advancing badminton in Ghana has earned him the trust of his peers, leading to his election as the current Athlete Commissioner till June 2027
