A New Era for Ghana Para Badminton: Our Pathway to LA2028
The Ghana Badminton Federation is proud to announce a strategic restructuring of its Sitting Badminton programme, effective May 2025. This new chapter is designed to build a sustainable and high-performing pipeline for Para athletes, with a clear focus on the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
Key Pillars of Our New Structure:
Revitalised Leadership: The programme will be driven by two newly appointed Head Coaches, who bring a fresh vision and specialised expertise to guide our national Para badminton teams.
Aggressive Talent Identification: Starting in January 2026, we will launch a nationwide “Talent ID” campaign to seek out and recruit aspiring athletes with the potential to excel on the international stage.
A Clear Strategic Goal: The ultimate objective of this restructuring is to systematically develop our athletes to qualify and competitively represent Ghana at the LA2028 Paralympic Games.
This renewed framework underscores our Federation’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity, excellence, and the development of Para sports in Ghana. We are building a robust foundation to nurture talent, foster elite performance, and proudly fly the Ghanaian flag in global Para badminton competitions.
